You probably know Billie Eilish from her #1 hit “Bad Guy”, or the song “What Was I Made For?” (from its placement in the Barbie movie and its subsequent award show performances). But have you ever heard “Ocean Eyes”?
While it may be old news to Eilish superfans (as it was first released in 2015), personally, I’d never heard it on the radio – or anywhere else for that matter – until I found out about it several months ago. What I heard was stunning – perhaps Billie Eilish’s best song to date, and quite possibly one of my favorite songs of this century, so far (which has also earned it a spot on the list).
What’s even more amazing is that this performance was released when she was just 14 years old! Credit is owed to her brother Finneas as well, for writing the song and producing it. So if you’ve never heard this lesser-known masterpiece, do yourself a favor and check it out now.
